Joe's love of music started at a very early age and he has been entertaining professionally since the age of thirteen when he performed at Leeds, New York. He continued throughout his life giving command performances anywhere he was asked and able to travel. His seasonal travels have taken him between New York City's "five boroughs" to up-state New York and down into Florida.
Although Joe and his band called "Music in Motion" performed at most of the local catering halls in Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Long Island area, they were known as the "House Band" at the Embassy Terrice and the Ferncliff Manor in Brooklyn. Joe's "Music in Motion" band played at hundreds of weddings, anniversaries, Bar Mitvahs and other affairs too numerous to mention.
If you remember spending summers in the Catskill Mountains, near Leeds, Hunter, Tannersville, Swan Lake or Kiameesha Lake, you will remember Joe. If names like the Majestic Bungalow Colony, Villa Maria, The Villa Vosilla, The Concord, the Stevensville Hotel or the Saxony Hotel in Florida bounce back into your memory.......so will Joe Drao's music. Joe played at the Villa Vosilla in Hunter, New York for years and was in charge of the youth group entertainment every year. He entertained the kids by day & the parents at night! Joe Still loves to play and record his music and he's still in the Catskill Mountains. He lives, plays and records near Hunter, New York, right in the heart of the Catskills where he spent his entire entertainment life.
